HTML5 2: The Semantic Web Register for this course: HTML5 2: The Semantic Web

HTML is no longer just for the Web. With the advent of HTML5 its influence will pervade every major mobile platform — and Windows 8. HTML5 skills with along with JavaScript and jQuery, are becoming indispensable to developing (programming) in almost any vendor environment and on every device form factor.

In this course you will learn to identify the key features of HTML5 that distinguish it from previous versions of HTML, and build HTML5 compliant web pages that employ the most immediately relevant features in common use today. This is also laying the groundwork for developing for other platforms.

This is a workshop oriented course in which the focus will be on building web pages. Learn strategies and tools to support cross-browser compatibility and use online tools to validate your markup. In addition to using the new semantic and multimedia elements you will learn how Canvas, Form elements, and Web Storage can contribute to rich user experiences. You will be able to view your web pages live on the web.
