    Highlights / Metacognition

What did you think was the most valuable thing that happened for you in this session?

The most valuable thing was learning about listening for events.

What did you learn from that?

I learned a Javascript skill that I have always been curious about, as I have always wondered how people made websites respond to actions such as mouse over events.

What will you do with that knowledge?

You can make some amazing menus that open up with this event acting as the trigger. I love awesome menus, and that is probably the main use that I will get out of this.

    Questions?

Now that we’ve had our seventh session, what do you want to know?

I want to experiment with the code a bit better to understand how it works better. Deriving the sequences of code seems to thoroughly absord the concept, and test that I understand it.

What could we have done better?
I think we could have glossed over an example like this yesterday, worked on it last night, and had a better basis of understanding the work that we are doing today. I’m always looking for a better way to understand the material, and that works a bit better for me. Perhaps we can gloss over one of tomorrow’s examples today?

Covering scope was really nice as I have often used that code but have not understood why. The web storage stuff is fantastic to work with.
What did you learn from that?
How to control my scope and how to persist data in sketchy connections.
What will you do with that knowledge?
Create better web forms that allow for the information to persist between sessions.
