What did you think was the most valuable thing that happened for you tonight?
The most valuable thing from class for me was understanding how browsers understand and read scripts.
What did you learn from that?
That there are different ways javascript can be read, through html and also through php/aspx/jsp.
What will you do with that knowledge?
It will make it easier to understand why coding is wrote certain ways.
    Questions?
Are there better servers to use to input code or is it just the browser that makes the difference?

Now that we’ve had our first session, what do you want to know?
Still want to understand javascript and understand what is and isn’t possible within its constructs.
What could we have done better?
Sometimes there were things we were doing that would be explained later – it made understanding what was being shown in the moment confusing.

    Highlights / Metacognition

•What did you think was the most valuable thing that happened for you tonight?
    •Interpretive vs compiled languages

•What did you learn from that?
•Compiled language – a compiler translates the program directly into code which is specific to a target machine – this code is given to the processor and operating system.
•Interpreted language – the source code is not directly run by the target machine. Instead another program reads and then executes the original source. The other program is known as the interpreter.

•What will you do with that knowledge?
•Use this to develop a strong understanding of Javascript vs Java.

  4. •What did you think was the most valuable thing that happened for you tonight?

•Now that we’ve had our first session, what do you want to know?
My HTML is still pretty green as I haven’t practiced much. Learning JavaScript seems pretty complex and daunting but I’m hoping I can get through it okay.
•What could we have done better?
    Too early to say.
